미주동포들이 국내 2차 민중총궐기에 맞춰 연대투쟁을 벌려 이목을 집중시켰다.
미주동포들은 지난 4일(현지 시각) 미국의 심장부인 워싱턴과 뉴욕과 로스엔젤레스 시카고, 보스턴, 필라델피아, 캐나다의 토론트 등에서 지난 1차민중총궐기를 살인적으로 진압한 현정권을 규탄하는 규탄시위를 열었다.
재미동포 언론들과 동포들에 따르면 로스엔젤레스 거주 동포들은 지난
4일 오후7시부터 이곳 한국총영사관 앞에서 서울서 진행된 ‘10만 민중총궐기대회’에 대한 살인진압으로 국민들을 무자비하게 탄압한
박근혜 폭압정권을 규탄하는 시위를 벌이면서 미전국 8개도시(로스앤젤레스, 뉴욕, 워싱턴디씨, 시카고, 보스턴, 필라델피아,
텍사스, 씨애틀) 동포들이 작성한 연대성명서를 발표했다.
이날 로스엔젤레스 동포들은 이 연대성명을 통해 ▲역사 교과서 국정화를
철회하며 건국절 기획을 당장 그만둘것, ▲세월호를 속히 인양하고 진상규명을 철저하게 실시할 것 ▲북 붕괴론에 기초한 적대적인
국면을 조성하지 말고, 평화 통일을 위한 남북 화해 정책을 실시하고 국내 해외 인사에 대한 색깔 공세를 중단할 것 ▲지난 11월
14일 자행된 폭력적인 진압을 규탄하며 백남기 선생의 회복에 최선을 다할 것 등을 한국 정부에 촉구했다.
또한 보수 장기집권 기획을 위한 언론 장악, 개헌 논의 등을 당장 그만두고 정정당당하게 민중의 심판을 받으라고 덧붙였다.
한편 이날 집회 참가자들은 박근헤 대통령의 복면 시위자들을 테러세력에 비교한 것에 반발해 복면을 쓰고 집회에 참석했다.

재미동포 연대성명서
박근혜 정권은 유신 회귀를 기획하고 있는가?
우리 재미동포들은 최근 대한민국에서 펼쳐지고 있는 박근혜 정권의
유신으로 회귀하려는 듯한 불온한 기획에 대하여 심각한 우려와 분노를 표명한다. 박근혜 정권은 특히 이러한 기획에 저항하는 민중의
정당한 민중 총궐기를 폭력적으로 진압함으로써 백남기 선생을 뇌사 사건에 빠뜨렸다.
비무장한 시위대를 향한 무차별한 물대포 난사에서 우리는 박근혜 정권의
후진성을 본다. 집권세력에서는 미국 같으면 총을 맞아 죽을 일이라는 망발을 일삼으며 우리 재미동포들을 분노케 하고 있다. 미국은
어떠한 경우에도 평화시위를 보장하며 비무장한 시위대를 향해 무차별 진압을 행하지 않는다.
또한 우리는 넘어진 백남기 선생을 향해 집중적으로 퍼부어진 물대포,
심지어 구급차를 향한 물대포 난사에서 한국 집권세력의 야만성을 본다. 처음부터 부정한 방법으로 집권한 박근혜 정권은 자신들의
치부를 덮기 위해 모든 권력을 이용해 민주 세력을 탄압하는 야만을 행하고 있다.
이에 우리 재미동포들은 11월 14일 민중총궐기대회에서 요구한
11개 조항을 속히 받아들일 것을 촉구한다. 노동개악 중단과 역사교과서 국정화 철회, 세월호 진상규명, 공안정치 중단, 남북
대치국면 종식 등은 우리 재미동포들이 바라는 것과 동일하며 박근혜 정권의 유신시대로의 회귀를 규탄 저지하며 재미동포의 요구사항을
아래와 같이 전한다.
우리는 이러한 요구사항이 관철될 때까지 재미동포들뿐 아니라 미국의 양심세력들과 연대하여 박근혜 폭압독재 정권과 계속 투쟁해 나갈 것이다.
재미동포들의 요구사항
1. 국사 교과서 국정화를 철회하며 건국절 기획을 당장 그만두라. 박근혜 정권과 그를 둘러싼 세력들은 자신들의 선대가 행한 친일 행각을 반성하기는커녕 미화하기 위하여 신성한 교육현장까지 왜곡시키려고 하고 있다.
뿐만 아니라3.1 운동을 기점으로 시작된 대한민국의 역사를 부정하고
1948년을 건국으로 간주해 독립운동 역사를 폐기시키고 있다. 이는 해외에서 가열차게 독립운동을 해 온 선배 한인들의 희생을
무시하는 것으로서 오늘을 사는 해외 한인들에게도 모욕적인 공작이다.
2.세월호를 속히 인양하고 진상규명에 철저하게 실시하라. 사고가 난지 600여일이 다 되어감에도 불구하고 진상규명은 커녕 의혹만 점점 늘어나고 있다. 철저한 진상규명과 책임자 처벌이 이루어지도록 박근혜 정권은 최선을 다하라.
3. 북한 붕괴론에 기초한 적대적인 국면을 조성하지 말고 평화 통일을
위한 남북 화해 정책을 실시하고 국내 해외 인사에 대한 대한 색깔 공세를 중단하라. 우리 재미동포들은 한반도 평화의 차원에서
한반도사드배치반대, 한미일삼각군사동맹중단을 요구하며 일본의 군국주의 무장화에 대응하지 못하는 박근혜 정부의 무능을 규탄한다.
4. 지난11월 14일 자행된 폭력적인 진압을 규탄하며 백남기 선생의 회복에 최선을 다하라.
5. 보수 장기집권 기획을 위한 언론 장악, 개헌 논의 등을 당장
그만두고 정정당당하게 민중의 심판을 받으라. 불의한 방법으로 권력을 계승하려는 권력은 파멸을 맞을 수 밖에 없다는 것을 한국과
해외 시민 운동은 똑똑히 기억하고 있다. 한국 역사가 다시 퇴보하지 않도록 하는 일이야 말로 박근혜 정권의 평화로운 퇴임을
보장하는 일임을 명심하라.

Condemning the Murderous Repression of South Korean Government
against the November 14, 2015 “100,000 People’s Rally”
Is This a “Pivot to the Yushin Era” by the Park Geun-hye Administration?
We,
Koreans in the U.S., still remember the Yushin Era under President Park
Chung-hee, when his military dictatorship tightly controlled the
country with fabricated espionage cases, torture, and imprisonment of
many.
Accordingly, we are deeply concerned
about the recent wave of disturbing announcements by the Park Geun-hye
administration, such as calling peaceful protesters ‘terrorists’ and the
establishment of a single state-approved textbook. We are especially
outraged by the Park Geun-hye administration’s use of violent force
against the 100,000-strong People’s Rally on November 14, 2015, which
ended up putting a 69-year old farmer, Mr. Baek Nam-ki, into a coma.
The infuriating image of the water cannons targeting the injured and
prostrate farmer even into the waiting ambulance symbolizes the
extremely repressive nature of the current administration.
The Park administration, whose very
election was based on an illegal use of state intelligence, has
continuously and savagely used violent repressive measures over the
progressive movement in order to hold onto their illegitimate power,
resulting in the retreat of democracy in South Korea and back to the
conditions of the Yushin military dictatorship era.
Accordingly, we, Korean Americans,
demand that the Park administration accept the 11 demands of the
November 14, 2015 People’s Rally and implement them right away.
We support the 11 demands, such as
stopping retrogressive labor market reform, stopping nationalization of
the history textbooks, salvaging of the Sewol Ferry and conducting fair
investigation, stopping state repression on the civil societies,
stopping hostile anti-north policies.
In particular, we demand the
following. We will continue our solidarity campaigns hand in hand with
the conscientious forces of the world against the Park administration
whose regressive direction is anti-democratic, anti-reunification,
anti-people.
We demand:
1.
Overseas Koreans demand the Park administration respect freedom of
speech and freedom of thoughts. Withdraw the proposal to create a
single state-approved history textbook and stop the campaign to
establish the state-founding day of August 15, 1948. The Park
administration is attempting to cover up the pro-Japanese collaborating
acts of their predecessors and denying the history of the 1919
provisional government establishment in Shanghai, initiated by March 1st
national movement. This also attempts erase the independence movements
of overseas Koreans.
2.
Guarantee freedom of assembly and promptly accept the demands of the
People’s Rally for the livelihood of Korean people. We criticize the
murderous repression of the rally on November 14, 2015 and hold the
government responsible for the injuries caused by the violent
repression. Arrest and indict the officer who is accountable for the
attempted murder of Mr. Baek Nam-ki, and pay special care for recovery
of him.
3.
Stop hostile anti-North campaigns based on a scenario of North Korea’s
collapse, and stop creating propaganda campaign in the Korean Community,
painting leaders of the communities as pro-north. In order to promote
peaceful reunification, we stand against the proposed Korea-US-Japan
trilateral military alliance and Korea’s inclusion into the U.S. missile
defense system.
4. Salvage of the Sewol Ferry and conduct fair investigation to uncover the truth behind the Sewol tragedy.
5.
Stop media campaign for the constitutional amendment to extend the
Presidential term and instead conduct mid-term evaluation vote of the
President. History has shown that no anti-democratic power could gain
trust of the people.
